Champions Shout From The Rooftops!

Courtesy of Ganguly’s Mixed Martial Arts

Being an eager student of the martial arts and training in a great dojo with a great team is a very positive and rewarding experience. Other than the many benefits of martial arts training, there are also the many great friendships and supportive relationships that are developed through our training together.

“Shouting from the rooftops” refers to spreading the word about all the good that is going on in your life, your dojo and with your team. Face it. The real world is filled with so much negative news. A dojo is filled with an endless supply of positive news and events, which is why we encourage you to “shout from the rooftops” about all that is good.

All too often, people only talk about the negative news of their day and in their lives. When you shout from the rooftops, you are doing exactly the opposite. You are sharing all the good news and spreading a much- needed positive spirit to everyone you come into contact with.

It could be something as simple as spreading the word about an upcoming event, a recent Black Belt Extravaganza, a seminar, an awesome class, a belt promotion or maybe it’s inviting a friend to attend an Open House class or coming in to watch a class.

Champions are always eager to spread the good word about what is going on. The more you influence your inner circle of family and friends about the martial arts, the greater interest and support they will provide to you in your journey. You’ll also find that the more you talk about positives and the good stuff in life, the more positives you’ll attract.

A Special Message from Steve Doyon, Danbury, CT

Never let what you can’t do interfere with what you can do.”

Some people become obsessed with their faults. They may have body image hang-ups, or have low self-esteem over their level of education or perhaps waste time worried about previous failures.

Meanwhile if they focused on what they have accomplished, the many blessings they do have and worked on plans for the future, nearly anything could be possible.

Be sure not to focus on what you can’t do or haven’t done. Spend your time making plans for your future and setting.

Putting Honor To Work

From “Living The Martial Way” By Forrest E. Morgan, Maj USAF

As a warrior, you are growing stronger, more educated, and more powerful than most of your non-warrior associates. But these treasures don’t come without a price. Strength breeds power, and as a leader you assume the responsibility to lead ethically, to apply your power justly and benevolently. You must put your personal honor to work for the good of society.

Now it’s time to take up your responsibilities and act. But to apply honor to situations in your own life, you must understand how it factors in the following key issues: Truthfulness, Courtesy, Restraint, Loyalty and Service!

Quotes To Motivate You

Watch your thoughts; they become words. Watch your words; they become actions. Watch your actions; they become habits. Watch your habits; they become character. Watch your character; it becomes your destiny..” — Lao-Tze

Believe those who are seeking the truth. Doubt those who find it..” — Andre’ Gide
