(Front Punch Stance)
Stance width is 1 foot length between the feet, stance length is 2.5 foot lengths between the back toes and the front heel, lengthwise. Both feet are flat, the front foot straight and the back one at 22.5 degrees. The front knee is bent so the knee is even with the ankle and it also has outward pressure on it so the knee is directly over the ankle. The back leg is relaxed straight (knee is not locked). The hips are relaxed at about a 20 degree angle off the front line and the weight is equal between your feet (Note: most styles use Zenkutsu, a longer more rigid stance).
